Making Home

This article was recently passed on to me and I fell in love with it.   It explains and reiterates a deeper sense of why I do homes.  At times I am torn by the cost of custom home building weighed against overall societal need.  It seems such an excess but then there is something beautifully profound about creating a home.  This article is a beautiful reminder about the value of home.

When we get a new job – I spend about 3/4 of the time back at the office describing the people rather than the “project” . There is a deep seated sense that our work tries to express – with home design the people ARE actually the project. The building container is for this particular life and the container should not rule the life but give the owner the life they aspire to.
