Nova Scotia Redux
Inspired by the homeowner’s childhood in Nova Scotia a family of four sought to transform the home where they started their family into a roomier and more light filled version where they could all have bedrooms and also welcome friends and family. A light filled stair connects all three floors, exposed floor joists add an element of simplicity and rawness, and sporadic explosions of color keep it fun. The kitchen and dining space holds central stage and looks out to the tall redwoods in the yard. It features a mix of warm woods and classic navy cabinets, indestructible stainless steel and butcher block counters which create a practical prep surface. There are floor to ceiling panel front cabinets for the myriad of kitchen tools, pantry items and hobby storage.
